In a nutshell, what does ManTech do?

ManTech is a provider of technologies and mission-critical national security programs for Intelligence Community; the departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, and Justice; the Space Community; and other U.S. federal government agencies.

How did you first hear about ROCS?

You guys called my office several times before I actually spoke with you. I found out you were students helping fellow students and running a legitimate business.

Were you using another agency before working with us?

No, I hadn’t used agencies in the past.

(Interview paused for a floor evacuation because of a “burning smell,” which was later determined to be nothing more than an A/C kicking on.)

What were your first impressions of the ROCS team when you first met us?

Nice, Smart, Entrepreneurial guys. I was impressed that you guys kept trying to reach me. After doing a little research and meeting with you, I wanted to find a way to work with ROCS.

How are you using your students in your office? What kind of work are you using them for?

The first student was hired to work as a receptionist during the afternoon hours. We needed someone reliable, professional, and friendly to fill in for our longtime receptionist, so she could take part-time hours instead. Kela (the student), now works as an Executive Assistant/Aide to a member of the Executive staff. Essentially, he created a place for himself after graduation. The other student began in our office as a receptionist and is now in her Senior year at Mason. However, she’s now in an HR role at ManTech.

How has working with ROCS benefited your company, as opposed to agencies in the past?

You guys provided me with some great students that have decided to stay with ManTech.

How many students did you have working at one time?

How many other HR or other departments in your office are using ROCS (if applicable)?

One of your students worked on the Executive Level and the other student worked in our HR department.

How did the student fit into your office? Was it easy for you to adjust to their presence?

They both fit in well and have become our employees. It was easy for us to adjust to their presence in the office. Both of the students were very nice, professional, and respectful – that in itself is good for first impressions.

Do you plan to use ROCS again in the near future?

Yes, definitely.

What do you like best about working with ROCS

You guys really care about the students you work with. You guys did whatever it took to make your customer happy. Again, I can’t believe one of your internal employees actually showed up for the day. I thought it was funny, but was impressed that you guys were so resourceful—even at the last minute.

What can we improve upon?

Fixing the phone system. I could never reach you the first time. It seemed as if the phone calls were dropped or weren’t being handled properly.

(Status: We definetely had some growing pains with our automated phone system. We’ve now upgraded to a top of the line system and always have someone (a real person) ready to answer within 2 rings during business hours. No more automated attendant or confusing options. Can you hear us now? Good.)

Would you recommend our company to a friend?

Yes. I’d also recommend you to other departments at ManTech as well.

How did you first hear about ROCS?

ROCS was already used by the department before I came to HR. I inherited them as one of the placement agencies I currently use.

We’ve used a few before and along the way but ROCS is typically my preference for any entry-level positions.

Open, friendly and driven.

What makes you want to keep working with ROCS?

I like that ROCS is a cost effective placement agency that works hard to help place local students. I also like that ROCS has very friendly staff and an efficient approach to business. It’s much appreciated especially when things get hectic in our office.

How are you using your students in your office?

We’ve had students in varying roles. Some examples would be temporary employees in HR, Payroll and the Call Center, other departments would include Advertising and Market Development. We’ve had at least 2 ROCS temps come on as full-time employees and grow in their positions.

How has working with ROCS benefited your company, as opposed to agencies in the past?

The combination of approachability and efficiency would be the greatest draw.

How did the student fit into your office? Was it easy for you to adjust to their presence?

It really varies, some students fit in more quickly than others.

At least 6 different departments that I’m aware of.

Do you plan to use ROCS again in the near future?

I think ROCS was able to provide a cost effective resource that has helped us in a variety of ways. We definitely plan to use ROCS in the future.

What were your 1st impressions of the ROCS team when you met us?

The concept was great and Tom was very approachable. When I first met him, I was immediately comfortable and at ease. I definitely thought it was going to be a great way to find a college student for our office.

What makes you want to keep working with ROCS?

When it comes to the company, you guys are so enthusiastic and caring. You really go out of your way to help the students and meet your client’s needs.

Receptionist/Accounting Assistant: The immediate need was to get flexible help for Admin/Reception. However, after she did such a great job, she took on additional responsibilities in our accounting department.

How has working with ROCS benefited your company, as opposed to agencies in the past?

The students aren’t overqualified in the sense their resumes are exactly the amount of experience they have. In other words, if you need someone with 2 years of experience– you get exactly that. Plus, you get a student that’s willing to learn and motivated to grow.

How did the student fit into your office? Was it easy for you to adjust to their presence?

Adjusting to having a student as our receptionist and accounting assistant was easy. At first, she was reserved, but quickly adapted to our office environment.
