Accounting Intern in Herndon, Va

Part-time (20-30 hrs per week) - $10 per hour

Position Description

Position will report to the Accounting Supervisor focusing on general business operations and performing entry level accounting tasks. The intern will have daily access to their supervisor and will work closely with the team in performing our monthly tasks. This is a great hands-on learning experience for someone with no prior corporate or business experiences.

Duties

• Various administrative responsibilities and duties: open/close office, answer phone, prepare mailings, process purchase order requests
• Entry level accounting tasks: AP/AR processing, credit card processing, billing, bank reconciliation
• Provide weekly status report to supervisor
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Special projects to be assigned

Qualifications:

• Current student with a concentration in accounting or business
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• General knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Willingness to learn and contribute to the team's monthly tasks and the monthly close process
• Skills to succeed: good listener, hard-worker, good work ethic, strong analytical skills, good communication skills, and conscientious with attention to detail
