Job Duties
- Coordinate and manage all General Ledger data and accrual calculations and schedules (depreciation, FICA, PTO)
- Prepare and review journal entries
- Review, code & manage Accounts Payable data entries and track accounts receivable
- Prepare weekly AP and cash balance reports
- Review and compare timesheets to program budgets
- Coordinate staff labor utilization with project managers
- Implement new contracts in the accounting system
- Review and compute monthly project revenues
- Coordinate job cost reporting and budget variances with project managers
- Provide project managers with other financial reports as needed
- Assist in the development of price proposals
- Assist in the packaging of RFPs
- Prepare monthly invoices and coordinate other billings with managers
- Assist with annual and government audits providing auditors with detailed schedules and ad-hoc reporting (as needed)
- Provide management with Excel financial reports (as needed) utilizing accounting system databases
- Reconcile and assist with bi-weekly payrolls and annual reporting
- Assist with the company's banking relationships and banking transactions
- Assist with the preparation of: month-end financial statements, quarterly consolidated financial statements, financial dashboards and other executive management reporting
- Assist in tracking and budgeting indirect costs and rates
- Maintain the company's fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Coordinate the analysis and purchase of new office equipment and software
- Track overhead expenses with operations staff
- Assist with annual tax reporting (federal, state and local)
- Assist with annual insurance program renewals
- Maintain the organization's policies and procedures
- Assist the contracting department with subcontractor budget tracking
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required
- 4-5 years of experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high proficiency in Excel
- Experience using Deltek and Peachtree accounting software
- Federal contracting or non-profit experience a plus
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, people, and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams
