Audit Associate in McLean, VA

Job Responsibilities

• Efficiently communicate with clients to assess their financial needs.
• Apply generally accepted auditing standards to the firm's internal controls and ensures controls are adequate and functional.
• Prepare and compile budgetary requirements and allowances in order to determine respective tax rates and levies.
• Review and approve tax apportionments.
• Supervise accountants through entire audit process.
• Travel to client sites.

Job Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Possess or be in pursuit of a CPA, having completed at least one portion of the CPA exam.
• Experience in auditing and financial statement reviewing and compilation.
• Must be able to handle a high stress environment.
• Must be able to work extra hours during peak season.
• Preferable at least one year of tax season experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate with firm clients, and supervise staff accountants during planning, fieldwork and report preparation for small business and not-for-profit audit, review and compilation engagements. The position also requires small business and not-for-profit tax preparation services. The majority of the firm's clients are located in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
