The Youth Resource Coordinator seeks to promote the non profit organization's mission and philosophy and to foster the ethics and dedication modeled by the Department of Defense and the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS) through delivery of service and financial support for families who need child care assistance.
The Youth Resource Coordinator provides technical support for DoD/Military and AmeriCorps/VISTA Child Care programs. The Youth Resource Coordinator is responsible for processing child care subsidy applications and maintaining relationships with military personnel and AmeriCorps/VISTA members, parents, and child care providers.
Qualifications
- Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must have good knowledge of, and experience in computerized database functions; good communication skills (oral, written, and listening); and excellent organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to interact positively and cooperatively with individuals at all levels; work as a team member; function under time pressure; and respond in a positive manner to supervision
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- This position requires completion of a satisfactory background check.
- 90 day commitment required.
Duties
- Provides child care applications and other information to clients as requested.
- Receives child care applications and other information from clients and reviews applications for completeness and accuracy of information.
- Determines applicant eligibility according to CNCS and the Department of Defense policies and accurately confirms and calculates child care subsidy rates according to CNCS and the Department of Defense policies and custom calculator.
- As needed, assists applicants in assessing and selecting child care options and determines child care provider qualifications according to CNCS and the Department of Defense policies.
- Prepares and distribute provider agreements, attendance records, and other documents to clients.
- Serves as liaison between parents, child care providers, and the senior non profit organization's Subsidy Department personnel. Advises supervisors of potential client problems when necessary.
