Job Overview
The Parent Liaison Specialist is responsible for assisting military families with technical support for government-subsidized Child Care programs and services. The Parent Liaison Specialist provides confidential and supportive assistance to prospective fee assistance applicants, who contact the company by phone, email or refer themselves through online inquiry. The Parent Liaison provides accurate and exemplary customer service support to parents in completing the eligibility and application requirements for child care fee assistance. The Parent Liaison ensures that all required documentation for child care fee assistance is submitted by parents and update military families' information in the company database.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as principal liaison for parents requesting fee assistance, provide exceptional customer service support in navigating fee assistance program policies and procedures.
- Assist parents in assessing and selecting child care options and determine child care provider qualifications according to government policies.
- Determine applicant eligibility according to government policies and accurately confirm and calculate child care fee assistance rates according to government policies and custom calculator.
- Update client information and data into automated database system.
- Work closely with assigned child care coordinator to ensure that all processed files are 98% accurate.
- Coordinate and monitor resolution to concerns from parents regarding fee assistance program.
- Maintain respectful, professional working relationship with military families.
- Maintain high-ethical standards including maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Assist with special projects and other functions as needed to accomplish company objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, social work, psychology required. An associate's degree in early childhood development, education, social work or psychology and two years experience in education, social work, or psychology field may substitute for bachelor's degree.
- Proven experience in a social services, human services, or child development setting.
- Experience with case management and call center environment.
- Experience in computerized database functions.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
