Alexandria, Va - Part Time - $15-20 per hour

Job Outline

• Work with patient, patient's physician, family members, and other staff to assess condition of patient, devise a care plan and implement the plan
• Keep accurate records regarding patient's condition, medication dosages and times, and relevant information pertinent to patient's care plan
• Educate patient and aides on aging process and resulting effects on health and life-styles
• Assist patients in adjusting to aging-related changes through practices which allow for maximum comfort for the patient
• Assist in providing in-service training to aides
• Supervise personal aides in providing assistance to patients with their daily living activities

Qualifications

• Possess or actively working toward a nursing degree
• Experience or interest working in geriatric care
• Physical demands are inherent to the position and include standing, walking, and interacting with patients. Occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to travel to patient's location
• Simple mathematical calculations
• Great communications skills
• Patience, motivation, encouragement, and great listening skills are essential in forming a bond with patients
