Linux System Administrator in Reston, Va

Duties:

• Build and manage RHEL servers, experience with Kickstart server
• Manage over 300 Red Hat Linux servers, over 200 Windows XP desktops and about 50 Fedora desktops
• Work with the systems help desk team to resolve any Tier 3 issues
• Design and implement hardware solutions
• Knowledgeable with various network appliances like routers, firewalls, switches etc.
• Provide 24x7 on call support to monitor and support the data center activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Required
• Certification from Red Hat
• Minimum experience of working on Linux for 2 years as a system administrator alone
• Should have implemented Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora

Required Skills:

Technical

• TCP/IP networking
• OS internals, including performance tuning, security etc. Kernel level experience
• NFS, NIS, SSH, SNMP, Samba
• Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, 2007 server, DNS and Active Directory
