Description:
Looking for Jr/Mid-level Software Developers who is familiar with automated testing tools to work at the Department of Labor in Washington, DC. Great manager, team, environment, and growth opportunity! Couple minutes from Union Station Metro Stop, located in the CNN building.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Under general direction, formulates/defines system scope and objectives.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems within the WHISARD family of applications and reporting components considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
- As needed, prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents these programs.
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
- May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project.
- Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analyst/programmers.
Required skills:
1-3 Years experience, Software Developer (jr/mid-level experience) and be familiar and/or knowledgeable with automated testing tools.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- DB2 environment. Beneficial to have C#, C++ or .Net frameworks, java, shell scripts, PL/SQL
- Knowledge and support of the full SDLC
- Support and maintenance of current applications
- Identify potential problems in existing code
- Handle software change orders, specifications and product documentation
- Delphi is plus.
- Analyzes requirements
- Defines design elements(responsibilities, operations, attributes, and relationships)
- unit-tests components and subsystems
- Supports others roles as required such as technical writer, tester, help desk
- Hands on J2EE (WebLogic application server, Web Service, XML, JSP)
- Familiar with Rational, star team, Unix, and Windows, Visio
- Financial experience is plus
Must haves:
- US Citizen or Green card holder
- Have excellent communication and written skills and work well independently and in a team environment.
- Pass a government background check
