A government-consulting firm that specializes in assisting government healthcare organizations is seeking an IT Support intern. The intern will function as helpdesk support, trouble shooting in a Windows environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment following design or installation specifications.
- Provides technical support and guidance to users (both onsite and remotely).
- Provides documentation/project tracking and management reporting.
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
- Update IT logs.
- Maintain inventory of all systems.
- Conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems.
- Develop training materials, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
- Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Research and prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing or completed a BS, MS in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
- Experience working in an IT department or PC support, or in another technically focused service environment.
- 1-2 years of Windows / PC Support required.
- Loves computers and helping people solve their computer problems.
- Software / Hardware maintenance experience required.
- Experience in basic Microsoft server configuration and support.
- Must possess strong analytical skills, be attentive to detail, and be a problem solver.
- Must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess technical writing skills.
