IT Systems & Network Administrator in Chantilly, Va

Chantilly, Va - Part Time (20 hrs per week) - $10-14 per hour

The Systems Administrator's main responsibility is the maintainance of the local area network and miscellaneous communications within the company.

Duties:

• Assist in the management the company's information system applications.
• Develop and improve the company's information/management systems and other appropriate services.
• Troubleshoot company computers, peripherals and software, as well as bring system problems to the attention of appropriate vendors.
• Maintain a current knowledge about applicable technology, and act as researcher, consultant and advisor about this technology for members of the company.
• Assist in the development and management of the company's data, communication, and printer networks.
• Provide technical support in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the company's data, communication, and printer networks.
• Perform routine system maintenance, security, and backup procedures as dictated by accepted computer system management practices.
• Maintain the company's networks and computer systems in a reliable and up-to-date manner, including routine modifications and upgrading.
• Assist with the management of enterprise work management application and enterprise financial application
• Perfor system backups and restores.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Majoring in Computer Science or Information Systems. Any relevant experience or accredited certifications (e.g. A+, Network+, MSCA, MSCE) can be used in lieu of a degree.
• Familiar with Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Microsoft Office, and computer and printer architectures.
• Experience in administrating Windows Domains.
• Ability to configure routers and switches.
• A thorough understanding of computers, local area networks, concepts of database management and spreadsheets.
