Job Duties Include
- Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
- Support and/or install software applications
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
- Employ commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in software development, particularly in J2EE
- Conform to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Works under immediate supervision
- Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
- Typically reports to a senior/lead engineer or manager
Required Qualifications
- 6 months of overall software development experience, 0 to 1 years in Java (or 0 years experience and a Masters degree)
- Working experience with front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JSP and JavaScript
- Familiar with J2EE architecture and technologies including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Struts (Apache)
- Familiar with OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle
- Familiar with SOAP/WSDL/UDDI
- Familiar with one more of the following market-leading application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat
- Familiar with either Oracle 8i/9i or DB2 8.1
- Familiar with XML, DTD/Schema, SAX/DOM and Java programming with XML
- Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- B.S. in Computer Science required; Master's Degree preferred
