ROCS started with 2 George Mason students wanting to help other students and recent grads find jobs. In just under 5 years, we've helped over 500 students find jobs in over 150 companies throughout the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland areas. Why we need your help

ROCS is growing. Recently the number of our IT openings has skyrocketed and we want to give young professionals the opportunity to show our clients what they can do. We need someone to provide IT expertise on a part-time basis to our less-than-tech-savvy recruiters to help us reach and retain qualified candidates. You will help us find, match and successfully place students and recent grads in our IT jobs.

Who we are looking for

We need someone who lives for IT and is passionate about helping their peers too. The right person will be pursuing or hold a degree in an IT-related field and be actively involved in clubs, events, organizations and projects in the IT realm. It's the perfect gig for someone who is already employed part-time or full-time but looking for supplemental income. If you can commit five to ten hours a week during your lunch break, the weekends, or after hours, that's perfect. We can work with you around your schedule. You should be fairly outgoing and not afraid to approach your friend's cousin's kid about a Java job you think he would perfect for. The perfect candidate will be passionate about helping us grow and excited to be a part of a young start-up company.

What you'll do

• Review job descriptions for accuracy and appeal
• Help us decipher resumes and decode techno-bable
• Evaluate applications from candidates
• Aid in developing an IT-specific screening process
• Perform phone interviews with potential candidates
• Help us locate top IT students and recent grads
• Build relationships with faculty and students at universities in DC, Maryland and Virginia

How it would work

What we need you to do will depend upon the unique requirements of our client's needs. One position might require you to search your network for someone with a highly demanded -- but rare -- programming language. Or you may help us review resumes full of words we don't understand. The hours are flexible and the position does not require you to come to our office -- all work can be performed remotely. You will be able to collaborate with your ROCS team members via our online portal or phone. If you'd like to work from our office in Fairfax, that's fine too!
