Candidate(s) should possess the following
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or related field (Spring 2010 degree candidates will be accepted)
- 1-5 years of experience as an intern or entry-level job helping execute social media outreach for non-profits, for-profits, ngo's, etc.
- Love of digital media. This is more than just talking to your friends on facebook, twitter, etc. These guys want someone who lives/sleep/eats/drinks social media - if possible. Their ideal candidate will be someone who is familiar with all social media platforms and be willing to make recommendations based on their experience and the needs of the organization. Ideally, this position could work into a community manager role.
- Willing to wear many hats. It's a trade association that serves over 300 companies, and their internal employees wear many hats. Expect to perform your communications duties, but not afraid to answer the phone, answer member questions, etc. All employees routinely perform administrative duties, answer phones, doors, send/receive office mail and order supplies.
- Strong writing background. You'll be expected to write copy for their online publications, member notices, and possibly marketing collateral.
- Work Independently, but do so in a team environment. You won't be micro-managed, but you will be expected to work on projects, create schedules, work with vendors and/or other staff members to bring the project to completion and promote it to their members.
- Great customer service skills. You'll work with their members on the phone, in person, and meet with them to ensure their feedback, questions, and issues have been met in a professional manner.
- A desire to help start an online brand. This organization represents IT companies of all sizes, and they need your assistance in helping leverage themselves online -- you'll be expected to help facilitate. You'll be their point-person for posting to their Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook pages.
