Responsibilities of the Bilingual Banking Associate:

· Open various new accounts, process necessary information and educate the customers as to services/products available as a result. (For example, Visa check card, online banking, automated teller, etc.)
· Assist with wide variety of customer services including open/close Shared Certificates, maintain Safe Deposit Boxes, assist customers with checkbooks, process credit card/loan applications for customer, manages outgoing wires, solve fraud issues, notary, close accounts, etc
· Assist customers with opening CD’s and educate customers as to penalties, earnings, etc.
· Explain and expedite the opening, closing, transfer, and rollover of IRA certificates
· Provide back up coverage for tellers as needed
· Answer all incoming telephone calls and email inquiries
· Provide 1st tier technical troubleshooting support to customers experiencing application and/or browser compatibility issues
· Utilize multiple databases simultaneously to review and resolve inquiries related to the applicable service
· Clearly document all customer conversations in call tracking system
· Coordinate responses with the appropriate personnel if customer requires an escalated level of support
· Willingness to learn and commit to applicable laws and regulations

Requirements of the Bilingual Banking Associate:

· Some college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including through military service will be considered
· Bilingual Spanish language skills required, need to be able to write, read, and speak both Spanish and English
· Previous experience working in banking or with a FCU or other financial institution
· Competency with computer skills (e.g., for database, web applications, and email)
· Excellent verbal communication skills with an emphasis on proper grammar, etiquette, and vocal qualities such as tone, inflection, and enunciation.
· Must live within a commutable distance to the DC office
· Experience corresponding to clients and customers over the phone
· Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams
· Demonstrated ability to remain poised under pressure
