 Responsibilities of the Business Development Representative:

  • Cold-call new untouched lead sources
  • Follow up with warm leads by calling prospects that are generated by preexisting lead sources
  • Understand the benefits of membership and sell key aspects to target audiences
  • Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects
  • Where necessary, support marketing efforts
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing clients via telephone and email cross-sell and up-sell
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database
  • Attend periodic sales trainings where applicable
  • Attend occasional industry events, conferences, and meetings

Requirements of the Business Development Representative:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of previous inside sales experience
  • Impressive communication and presentation skills, both over the phone and in-person
  • Ability to easily converse with senior leaders at some of the largest global companies
  • Ability to achieve set sales goals
  • High-energy and a results-focused approach
  • Adaptability; willingness to try new things and explore new tools
  • Commercially focused mindset to understand our customers as well as the internal process
  • Understanding of, and a willingness to learn about our industry and its role in the global economy
  • Experience with customer relationship management software preferred, but not required
