We’re a leading nonprofit who works closely with healthcare officials and healthcare systems across the country. This position provides high-level contract support to assist with contracts, grants, and proposal management.

Responsibilities of the Contracts Specialist:

  • Drafting contract documents; analyzing terms and conditions of contracts; drafting modifications to contracts; maintenance of the contract files; maintenance of software used to monitor contracts; monitoring non-programmatic compliance
  • Providing professional support for programs or internal functional activities, including staff trainings, and typically performs all duties with supervision from the Director of Contracts
  • Submitting contractual information to Federal and private funders as required (e.g. FAFTA)
  • Reviewing requests for payments and financial reports from subcontractors and subaward recipients
  • Reviewing contracts originated outside the organization to ensure the organization’s interests while determining type of contract to utilize for each purpose and providing subrecipient monitoring
  • Assist with annual audits
  • The Contracts Specialist understands policies, standards, and their application to their work; also understand implications of internal and external policies that impact their position and internal stakeholders that may involve project coordination, information sharing, or resolution of problems

Qualifications of the Contracts Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1- 3 years of work experience in contracts at the Analyst level
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in MS Office, especially Outlook Word and Excel, and experience with accounting and contracts system software and other database applications
  • Proven skills with principles and practices of Federal grants and contracts administration, including familiarity with the Uniform Grants Guidance
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services cooperative agreement regulations and guidelines strongly preferred
