The Membership Development Specialist provides administrative support to our team, and services our members with remarkable customer service.

Responsibilities of the Membership Development Specialist:

  • Data management in the association CRM including data entry, reporting, and other duties
  • Provides general administrative support for the department, such as managing list serves, committee lists, coordination of billing and invoices, preparing and sending letters, etc.
  • Provide support to the student and early career program including maintaining rosters, sending renewals and auditing chapters
  • Work with external grant writer to manage timeline and provide administrative support to grant process as appropriate
  • Responsible for administratively supporting grant application process by liaising with external grant funding professional; provide timely information and updates to management
  • Conduct prospect research on new opportunities that align with our mission
  • General member support / customer service including answering questions, requests, and concerns
  • Assists with marketing initiatives by setting up blast emails, writing marketing text and sending blast emails
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications of the Membership Development Specialist:

  • Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • Previous experience working successfully in a remote office environment
  • One to two years of practical experience in an office or a strong internship
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently to carry out assigned duties
  • Ability to organize and handle a variety of tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Shows initiative and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability for light travel to conferences and meetings
