About the Role
This position will handle accounts payable and receivable, check deposits, invoice processing, reconciliations, vendor management, and customer inquiries. The ideal candidate is a self starter who is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Process daily check deposits and accurately record transactions
- Process, code, and assign invoices through the accounts payable system
- Maintain accurate general ledger coding
- Set up new vendors, update vendor information, and maintain W-9 documentation
- Assist with accounts receivable invoices and customer account maintenance
- Support monthly and year end close processes
- Process AMEX statements and assist with bank reconciliations
- Maintain prepaid expenses and deferred revenue records
- Prepare and process sales tax payments and filings across multiple states
- Reconcile conference payments for registrations, housing, and special events
- Process refunds as needed
- Follow up on outstanding membership, conference, and accounts receivable invoices
- Respond to accounting and membership questions by phone and email
- Provide excellent customer service to members and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and organized documentation
- Assist with distributing materials and resources
- Work collaboratively with team members across the organization
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field required
- 1 to 3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred
- Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong data entry and record keeping skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong follow through and ability to work independently
- Professional and collaborative communication style
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
