Responsibilities:
- Prepare and make bank deposits using a remote deposit system; record deposits in the Payments Register.
- Create batches for all receipts, including checks, credit cards, ACHs, and wires.
- Monitor and manage the accounting inbox daily, ensuring timely responses to inquiries from members, vendors, and staff.
- Escalate urgent issues and maintain organized tracking and filing of email communications.
- Support vendor onboarding and payment processing, including ACH and virtual card setup.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding payments, vendor setup, and refunds.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and assist in resolving payment issues.
- Coordinate with the membership team to reconcile member payments and account status.
- Provide support during monthly closings and assist with year-end close and audits.
- Prepare and enter journal entries; generate supporting documentation and reports as needed.
- Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, invoice generation, billing reminders, and document prep.
- Assist in the preparation of financial workpapers and audit documentation.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and accounting efficiency.
- Support other finance projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in nonprofit environments (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) experience a plus).
- Familiarity with GAAP for nonprofits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems including Salesforce, Intacct, Tallie, and Bill.com.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling high volumes of data.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional record-keeping practices.
