About the Role
We are seeking a responsible and dependable After School Program Coordinator to supervise approximately 3 to 10 students from grades 3 through 11 while they wait for late pickup. You will provide a safe, supportive environment where students can complete homework, read, use laptops, have a snack, and participate in quiet activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students and ensure their safety and well being
- Assist students with homework and provide basic academic support
- Help students communicate with teachers when needed
- Prepare and organize the room before students arrive
- Ensure students are settled with snacks and appropriate quiet activities
- Manage staggered student pickups between 3:30 PM and 5:45 PM, with a grace period until 6:00 PM
- Coordinate with front desk staff regarding parent communication and student needs
- Assist with carpool when necessary
- Maintain a positive, social, and engaging environment
- Follow all school safety and supervision procedures
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Education, preferably a junior or senior, or completing practicum work
- Recent college graduates are welcome to apply
- Experience working with children or students is a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but training will be provided
- Responsible, reliable, and organized
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with students ranging from grades 3 through 11
- Able to commit to the required minimum hours with flexibility for additional shifts
4 days a week, 2.5 hours a day
