About the Role
A global logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking an Air Import Breakbulk Representative to support inbound cargo operations near JFK Airport. This position focuses on coordinating air cargo shipments, customs clearance activity, trucking arrangements, and operational documentation within a fast paced import environment. This is a strong opportunity for candidates with freight forwarding, air cargo, airline, or logistics operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate cargo pickup and shipment processing with airline ground handling agents and airport cargo terminals
- Arrange trucking and transportation from JFK Airport to warehouse facilities
- Coordinate customs clearance requests and ensure required documentation is submitted accurately
- Process terminal handling fees, invoices, shipment files, and operational records
- Upload shipping documentation and customs paperwork into internal systems and databases
- Communicate with airlines, trucking companies, customs brokers, warehouses, and internal operations teams
- Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure deadlines are met throughout the import process
- Support additional operational and administrative duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, air cargo operations, airline ground handling, logistics, or import/export coordination strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced operations environment
- Ability to multitask and manage shipment coordination independently
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and logistics systems preferred
- Reliable transportation required due to weekend schedule
- Ability to become fully independent within approximately 90 days of training and onboarding
Pay: $23–$25/hr
Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
