About the Role
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring our mission is fulfilled by supporting and engaging the volunteers who provide nearly half of our workforce. Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Services, this person will oversee volunteer scheduling, communication, recruitment, and orientation, while building meaningful relationships with volunteers. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, check-in, and direct volunteers to their assignments
- Communicate with a high volume of volunteers via email and phone
- Recruit volunteers for last-minute needs and special projects
- Lead orientations for new and prospective volunteers
- Manage volunteer schedules across multiple programs
- Collaborate with staff to create and adjust volunteer coverage plans
- Maintain the volunteer management system and ensure accurate records
- Support volunteer outreach efforts and represent the organization at events
- Supervise interns and coordinate ability-inclusive volunteer opportunities
- Process court-ordered volunteer applications and service hour requests
- Assist with special events, occasionally during evenings/weekends
- Update volunteer position descriptions and recruitment materials
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of experience coordinating volunteers
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Experience with volunteer management or CRM systems
$49,000 – $58,000 + Excellent Benefits
Full-time, Monday – Friday (8:30 am – 5 pm)
