About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Business Development Representative to connect with existing members, identify their financial needs, and match them with the appropriate products and services. This is a great opportunity for someone with banking or credit union experience who enjoys phone-based sales, relationship building, and working toward individual and team sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to targeted member lead lists to identify financial needs and uncover sales opportunities.
- Use consultative, needs-based selling techniques to recommend appropriate financial products and services.
- Confidently present solutions, cross-sell products, and close or refer qualified opportunities to the appropriate team members.
- Open and close accounts and process membership applications.
- Process and support loan applications and related financial transactions.
- Build and maintain relationships with Select Employee Groups (SEGs) and other referral partners to generate new business opportunities.
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals, activity expectations, and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of member interactions, sales activity, referrals, and account information.
- Handle confidential member information with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide a positive member experience and support overall business development goals.
- Participate in occasional local events and occasional Saturday work as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous banking or credit union experience required.
- 1–3 years of experience in outbound sales, financial services, business development, member services, or a related role preferred.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and engaging in phone-based sales conversations.
- Strong sales, relationship-building, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to ask effective questions, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Goal-oriented and motivated by sales targets, incentives, and performance metrics.
- Comfortable working with numbers, financial products, and basic math.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
- Self-motivated with strong business judgment and the ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree not required.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to pass a background and credit check.
