About the Role

We are seeking a Coordinator, State Advocacy to support state-level government relations, advocacy, and legislative initiatives. This role involves monitoring policy developments, providing analysis, and supporting grassroots advocacy efforts. The Coordinator will also draft communications, reports, and updates to keep stakeholders informed and engaged on important policy issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and track state legislation and regulations related to healthcare and public policy.
  • Coordinate advocacy initiatives and assist in implementing strategic advocacy plans at the state level.
  • Draft updates, policy briefs, talking points, and communications for stakeholders and members.
  • Support planning and logistics for advocacy-related events and meetings.
  • Conduct outreach to state and regional organizations to gather insights on local policy issues.
  • Assist in preparing testimony, letters, and position statements on legislative matters.
  • Provide research and analysis on policy issues and share regular updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while working closely with internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Political Science, Public Relations, Health Policy, or related field preferred).
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in policy, advocacy, or government relations.
  • Strong knowledge of the state legislative and political process.
  • Experience developing or supporting advocacy strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex policy issues and distill them into clear recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office tools.
