Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day office operations and ensure employees have the tools and resources they need
- Coordinate onboarding for new employees and offboarding for departing team members
- Maintain HR procedures, employee policies, personnel files, and the Employee Handbook
- Research and recommend new HR policies, employee benefits, training opportunities, and workplace improvements
- Assist with benefits renewals and retirement plan recordkeeping
- Post open positions, coordinate interviews, and support recruiting activities
- Plan staff events, training sessions, employee recognition programs, and engagement initiatives
- Manage relationships with building management, vendors, and external service providers
- Coordinate with external IT support regarding computers, networks, equipment, and technology needs
- Maintain office equipment, supplies, inventory, mail, and administrative systems
- Support accounting and finance with vendor setup, invoices, recordkeeping, and other administrative needs
- Identify opportunities to improve office procedures, technology, and overall operational efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous administrative, office operations, or human resources experience preferred
- Experience within a trade association or nonprofit environment is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written, verbal, and professional communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities
- Comfortable interacting with employees, vendors, job candidates, and external partners
