About the Opportunity
A leading professional medical association is seeking a Publications Specialist to join its publications team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented editor and writer who enjoys working with medical, scientific, or research-based content.
The Publications Specialist will support a portfolio of print and digital publications through copyediting, proofreading, writing, and publication coordination. The role will also help translate complex clinical topics into clear, engaging content for a physician audience.
Responsibilities
- Copyedit and proofread medical, scientific, and organizational content
- Support the timely production of print and digital publications
- Assist with medical communications and article development
- Help translate complex clinical or research topics into clear, understandable content
- Coordinate with internal departments, authors, and external sponsors
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Support webinars and other publication-related projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of copyediting, proofreading, and/or communications experience
- Strong knowledge of AMA Style
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, and writing skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology, basic science, or research-based content
- Medical, scientific, technical, academic, or research writing/editing experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Word skills; Wrike experience is a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and self-motivated
Schedule: Full-Time, Hybrid — Tuesdays & Wednesdays On-Site
Pay: 26–28/hour during temporary period
Conversion Salary: 66,000–68,000
