About the Role:
We are seeking a Junior Microsoft 365 IT Specialist to assist with migrating an organization (5–10 users) to Microsoft 365. You’ll help set up and configure accounts, migrate data, and provide one-on-one end-user support. Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset are essential, as much of this work involves training, documentation, and helping non-technical users adopt new tools. This role is part of a short-term project supporting a small public sector organization as they transition to Microsoft 365 Business. It’s an excellent opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or early-career IT professional to gain real-world IT and customer-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with setup and configuration of Microsoft 365 accounts (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
- Support email migration from legacy systems into Microsoft 365.
- Provision and configure Windows 11 laptops with Microsoft 365, security tools, and printers.
- Assist with OneDrive and Dropbox data migration.
- Provide end-user support and training (e.g., how to use Teams, share files, leverage OneDrive).
- Create documentation, SOPs, and simple training guides for end users.
- Communicate effectively with the customer, ensuring needs are understood and addressed.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint).
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory / Entra ID (user account management, SSO, device join).
- Basic understanding of Windows security (BitLocker, Defender, endpoint protection).
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service mindset.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
