After approximately six months, once training and performance milestones are met, you will transition into a Loan Closer role with expanded responsibilities.
Responsibilities of a Loan Closing Assistant
- Gather and prepare loan documentation packages required to close and fund SBA 504 loans.
- Support Loan Closers in managing the pipeline of deals to ensure timely closings and funding.
- Assist in obtaining all required insurance for loan closings.
- Receive and process approved amendment actions; update tracking reports and internal databases.
- Verify payment of application deposits and processing fees with accounting.
- Prepare and send packages to closing attorneys; receive loan documents and post bond sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for a Loan Closing Assistant
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1–2 years of experience in loan processing and closing of commercial loans; residential mortgage closing experience also considered.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven history of positive interactions with borrowers, bankers, and attorneys.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; training provided for proprietary software.
