Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented coordinator to help organize our association events, which draw from 100 to 600 people. You will be responsible for many aspects of event planning, coordinating communications, overseeing logistical details, and monitoring event budgets.
Responsibilities of the Event Coordinator:
- Maintaining relationships with vendors and venues
- Planning event details, including registration, catering, and revising invoices for accuracy
- Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise
- Serving as the primary point of contact during events and handling problems that may arise
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
- Coordinating with the Executive Director and other team members who prepare various aspects of the event
- Working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communications
Requirements of the Event Coordinator:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in event planning or event coordination
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Hotel experience helpful, but not required
