The Research Assistant serves primarily in a supportive role for the Office of Research initiatives and programs related to research grants and investigator support and research education.
Major Responsibilities of the Research Assistant:
Works with the department team to asset short and long-term goals
Works closely with the Research Director to assist with the administrative tasks
Provides general support to the department staff including administrative, clerical, and analytical functions
Handles meeting scheduling, creating meeting agendas, and coordinating attendance
Provides support for communications and correspondence, and maintains official documents, within the department
Assists with the marketing department to promote all research, education, and grants programs
Research information in support of proposals for research grants and education funding
Interacts with external individuals and groups to execute and promote research activities
Maintains the inventory of the departments' office supplies
Provides primary assistance with the department's meeting scheduling, meeting participant coordination, materials preparation, and post-meeting follow-up tasks
Provides staff support for other research programs and events as needed
Qualifications of the Research Assistant:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with experience in health science-related areas
Willingness and ability to attend evening conference calls as required and work weekends for special events
Research or grants program administration experience preferred
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
Proficient virtual meeting platform competency (e.g., Zoom, Teams, other)
Online survey programming proficiency, such as Survey Monkey (preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Effective time management
