The Research Assistant serves primarily in a supportive role for the Office of Research initiatives and programs related to research grants and investigator support and research education. 

Major Responsibilities of the Research Assistant:

  • Works with the department team to asset short and long-term goals

  • Works closely with the Research Director to assist with the administrative tasks

  • Provides general support to the department staff including administrative, clerical, and analytical functions

  • Handles meeting scheduling, creating meeting agendas, and coordinating attendance

  • Provides support for communications and correspondence, and maintains official documents, within the department

  • Assists with the marketing department to promote all research, education, and grants programs 

  • Research information in support of proposals for research grants and education funding 

  • Interacts with external individuals and groups to execute and promote research activities

  • Maintains the inventory of the departments' office supplies

  • Provides primary assistance with the department's meeting scheduling, meeting participant coordination, materials preparation, and post-meeting follow-up tasks

  • Provides staff support for other research programs and events as needed

Qualifications of the Research Assistant:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with experience in health science-related areas  

  • Willingness and ability to attend evening conference calls as required and work weekends for special events

  • Research or grants program administration experience preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

  • Proficient virtual meeting platform competency (e.g., Zoom, Teams, other)

  • Online survey programming proficiency, such as Survey Monkey (preferred)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective time management
